About Us

Supposed Crimes, LLC publishes queer fiction. We started with lesbian books and have expanded to encompass LGBTQ stories and ideas. The focus is on genre fiction–Westerns, Science Fiction, Horror, Action–rather than just romance. That’s how we set ourselves apart from our competitors. Our original characters happen to love women and kick ass.

“Supposed crimes” refers to the idea that homosexuality was once outlawed. Thus, our authors are being subversive by writing. As times change this becomes more tongue-in-cheek. Yet, Christians writing lesbians and men writing lesbians are still subversive ideas in this industry. We encourage our authors to challenge stereotypes.

Popular culture references to “supposed crimes” have inspired us, Such as Garfunkel and Oates’ As You Are and Alanis Morrisette’s Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie.

We are always interested in strategic partnerships with other vendors, including the ongoing development of established properties.

Acquitted Books publishes gay, bisexual, and straight fiction, M/M, M/M/F, erotica, and experimental pieces by our authors. These works are acquitted from any labels or censorship and are free to be what they are. Publication through Acquitted Books is generally restricted to current Supposed Crimes authors, or by invitation.

For start-ups and small publishing, we offer consulting services regarding production, distribution, accounting, marketing, and capital, starting at $50/half-hour.
